The Harborne pendant has a simple, deep dome shape that suits a farmhouse kitchen just as well as a much more contemporary room. This version pairs a matte Soot exterior, a flat dark grey, with a bright polished nickel interior, so the light gets a warm reflective boost every time it is switched on.

Soot Exterior, Nickel Interior

Every Harborne pendant starts life as solid brass, hand shaped into a rounded dome with a stepped, banded neck where the cable meets the shade. This one is finished in Soot on the outside, a flat, almost graphite dark grey, while the inside keeps a smooth, mirror bright nickel plating. Standing underneath it you see both finishes at once, the matte grey dome from below and the gleam of nickel lining the rim where the light spills out.

The Harborne's generous 400mm dome makes it a natural choice hung low over a dining table or kitchen island, where the nickel interior throws light down onto the surface below. Hang two or three in a row above an island for a bolder look, or use a single pendant in a hallway or living room where you want one strong focal point rather than a run of downlights.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later on, made at the same Welsh workshop, and the Harborne's brass dome and hand finished Soot coating are a direct product of that same process.
