The Harborne pendant keeps the deep, rounded dome shape that has made this shape a kitchen and dining room favourite, but swaps the usual raw metal look for something gentler. Inside the shade, a polished nickel lining throws light forward and down, so the fitting works just as hard as the original industrial design while looking completely different from below.

Smooth Nickel with a Flock Matt White Finish

This version is spun from solid brass, plated in a smooth nickel finish, then finished in Flock matt white on the outside. The chalky, slightly textured white sits in contrast with the bright polished nickel visible inside the shade, so you get a soft matte exterior and a reflective interior in the same fitting. It pairs easily with painted panelling, exposed brick or plain white walls, and reads as contemporary rather than traditional despite the classic dome shape.

Where It Works Best

The Harborne pendant suits kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and hallways. Hang it low as a single fitting over a table or kitchen island, or use two or three together at slightly different drop heights for a run of light above a longer surface.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting became part of the range later on, still hand forged and hot forged at the same Welsh workshop using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Harborne pendant's nickel plating and hand finished Flock coating are made using that same process.
