A Single Flora Shade for the Wall
The Flora wall light takes the range's soft, curved shade and mounts it flat against the wall on an adjustable arm rather than hanging it from the ceiling. Spun from solid brass and plated in a smooth nickel finish, it throws light up and out from a single wave edged shade, working well as a pair either side of a headboard or spaced along a hallway.
The Upstream Finish
Upstream is a cool, river toned blue applied over the nickel plated brass shade and wall plate, while the underside of the shade stays in bright, mirrored nickel. Turn the light on and that polished interior bounces the glow back out, so the fitting reads as a calm matte blue from most angles but flashes bright silver underneath. The rim keeps the same gentle wave as the rest of the Flora range.
How It Works
- Wall mounted on an adjustable knuckle joint, so the shade can be angled once fitted.
- Shade measures 217mm in diameter x 63mm high, with a 224mm projection out from the wall.
- Fixed to a 105mm diameter wall plate, 20mm deep.
- Takes one 6W max LED bulb with an E14 fitting, not supplied.
- Dimmable if fitted with compatible dimmable LED bulbs.
Where It Works Best
The Flora wall light suits hallways and stairwells where a run of matching fittings can line the wall, and works just as well as a pair either side of a bed in place of table lamps. It's equally at home in a living room, dining room or kitchen looking for a softer, wall mounted light rather than an overhead pendant.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Flora wall light carries that same brass work onto the wall, plated in nickel and finished in Upstream at the same Welsh workshop.
