A Sculpted Wall Light With a Softer Edge
The Flora wall light takes its name from the soft, flowing curves of its shade, spun into a shape that ripples like a petal rather than sitting as a plain cone. This version is finished in smooth nickel, so the surface is bright and reflective rather than textured, giving the fitting a cleaner, more contemporary edge while keeping the same handmade shape.
The Smooth Nickel Finish
The body and shade are spun from solid brass, then plated in a smooth nickel finish rather than left with a hammered texture. The result is a polished, mirror like surface that catches light and reflects the room around it, sitting well against both light and dark walls without competing with other metal finishes nearby.
How It Works
- Single light wall fitting on an adjustable knuckle joint arm, so the shade can be angled once fixed to the wall.
- Takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb, not supplied.
- Dimmable, if dimmable bulbs are used.
- Lamp head measures 217mm in diameter and projects 224mm out from the wall.
- Circular wall rose measures 105mm in diameter.
Where It Works Best
The adjustable arm and directional shade make this a practical choice either side of a bed, where it can be angled for reading without a bedside table lamp taking up space. It works just as well in a hallway or dining room for a softer accent light, or in a living room or kitchen where a single, well placed wall light fills in for a pendant or overhead fitting.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting became part of the range later on, still produced at the same Welsh workshop, hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Flora wall light's spun brass shade and nickel plating are a direct result of that same hands on approach to metalwork.
