From The Anvil Smooth Nickel Brindley Wall Light - Dingle (Rich Green)

The Brindley wall light is built around a solid brass frame with two adjustable knuckle joints, so the angled shade can be tilted and turned to throw light exactly where you need it. This version brings something different to the range: a shade finished in a deep, rich green called Dingle, paired with smooth nickel joints and a polished nickel rim inside the shade that helps throw the light forward.

The Smooth Nickel and Dingle Green Finish

The dome shade is cast in solid brass and finished in a matte, rich green paint called Dingle, giving it a soft, slightly textured surface that catches light without any shine. The two knuckle joints, the wing nut fixings and the wall rose are plated in smooth nickel, and the inside of the shade is lined in polished nickel too, so light reflects and spreads rather than disappearing into a dark interior. The combination of deep green and cool nickel gives the light a contemporary, almost architectural look that still nods to the classic angled task light shape.

How It Works

• Two adjustable knuckle joints let you angle the arm and tilt the shade, so you can point the light up, down or across the wall.
• Fixes directly to the wall through the nickel wall rose, which measures 105mm in diameter.
• Takes one 6W maximum LED E14 bulb, not included.
• Works with dimmable bulbs if you want to dim the light. The fitting itself has no built in dimmer.
• The shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.

Where It Works Best

Because the shade can be angled so precisely, the Brindley works well anywhere you want directional light rather than a general glow: either side of a bed as a reading light, in a hallway or on a staircase where you want to pick out the way through, or above a console table in a living room or dining room. It also suits a kitchen, where a single adjustable spot of light is useful over a worktop or breakfast bar.

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, and the Brindley's brass frame and hand applied paint finish carry that same hands on approach through to this wall light.
