A Directional Wall Light With Quiet Character
The Brindley wall light turns to face exactly where you need light, thanks to a jointed arm that swivels and tilts on two wing nut fixings. It throws a warm, focused pool of light rather than a flat wash, which makes it useful well beyond the usual spot beside a bed.
Smooth Nickel and Birch
This version pairs a smooth nickel armature and interior reflector with a shade finished in Birch, a soft pale grey that reads as neutral rather than cold. The nickel catches the light along the knuckle joints and the inner rim of the shade, while the Birch grey body stays quiet and matte, so the fitting sits happily against painted walls or panelling without drawing attention to itself.
How It Works
- Wall mounted on a round backplate, with a swivel arm and adjustable knuckle joint so the shade can be angled up, down, or to the side.
- Takes one 6W maximum LED E14 bulb, not supplied.
- Dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs.
- Shade measures 139mm in diameter by 124mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall. The backplate measures 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

Where It Works Best
The adjustable head suits a bedroom, where it can angle down for reading, or a hallway or staircase run that needs a warm accent rather than a flat wash. It also works well in a dining room, living room, or kitchen, either as a single fitting or in a pair either side of a doorway or headboard.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this Brindley wall light, formed from solid brass, is finished there using that same tradition.

- Does the shade move once it's fitted? Yes. The arm swivels and the head tilts on two wing nut joints, so you can angle the light up, down, or to the side after installation.
- What bulb does the Brindley wall light take? It takes one E14 bulb rated up to 6W LED, which is not included.
- Can I use it with a dimmer switch? Yes, as long as you fit dimmable bulbs.
