A Softer Take on the Brindley Pendant
This Brindley pendant brings an industrial dome shape into a much softer palette. Shaped from solid brass, the shade curves down to a wide open mouth lined in bright, polished nickel, throwing light out and downward wherever it hangs. Group two or three together and the nickel rim catches the eye every time you look up at them.
Finished in Tump
The outside of the shade is painted in Tump, a pale, muted green with a hint of grey running through it. It sits closer to putty than a bright green, so it reads as calm and understated rather than bold. The matte painted finish sits in quiet contrast to the polished nickel visible inside the shade and along its rim.
How It Works
- Supplied as a single pendant, fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, so the drop height can be set to suit your ceiling.
- Takes an LED bulb only, 6W maximum, E27 fitting. The bulb is not included.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
Where It Works Best
Its size makes it easy to hang in twos or threes above a kitchen island or along a dining table, spaced out to spread the light evenly. Hung singly, it works just as well over a console table in a hallway, or beside a sofa in a living room where a warm, focused pool of light suits the space better than an even wash of light across the whole room.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later on, made at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley pendant is shaped and finished there, its brass worked by hand before it takes on its Tump colourway.
