From The Anvil Smooth Nickel Brindley Pendant - Slate (Mid Grey)

The Brindley Pendant has the confident, rounded dome shape of an old factory lamp, with a wide bell that throws light down and out into the room. This version comes in Smooth Nickel with a Slate finish, a cool mid grey exterior with a bright polished interior that catches the light every time it swings.

Slate Grey, Polished Nickel Interior

The outer dome is powder coated in Slate, a flat, mid grey that reads as understated and modern rather than industrial. Inside, the shade is left in its natural smooth nickel, polished to a bright, reflective finish that bounces light back down from the bulb. The contrast between the matte grey outside and the shine inside is the whole point of this finish, and it shows clearly whether the pendant is on or off.

Where It Works Best

This single pendant suits kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and hallways. Because the drop can be adjusted, it works well grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island or a run of worktop, or hung on its own above a dining table or in an entrance hall where a single strong shape makes a statement.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant's nickel plated brass and its Slate powder coat are both finished at that same Welsh workshop, using the hand forming methods the company was built on.
