The Hockley pendant has a wide, sculptural cone shape that catches the eye the moment it is switched on. This one comes from the copper base range in an Upstream blue exterior, a strong single fitting for anyone who wants a confident shape overhead with a real hit of colour.

Smooth Copper in Upstream Blue

The shade is spun from solid copper, then finished with a smooth matte coat of Upstream blue on the outside. Inside, the copper is left bare and polished, so once lit the shade throws a warm coppery glow down and across the room, a nice contrast to the flat blue seen from below.

Where It Works Best

Its scale makes it well suited to a single pendant over a kitchen island, dining table or entrance hall, and the Upstream blue brings a real splash of colour into a living room, kitchen, dining room or hallway. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. That same hand forming of copper is what gives the Hockley shade its shape and its Upstream blue finish.

• What bulb does the Hockley pendant use? It takes a single LED bulb with an E27 fitting, rated at 6W maximum. The bulb is not included.
