The Tump Finish

This particular Hockley is finished in Tump, a soft, pale green with a hint of grey that feels more like a considered paint colour than a typical metal finish. The exterior is matte, so the green sits calm and chalky rather than shiny. Turn it over and the copper reappears, left polished and uncoated inside the shade, so it throws a warm, coppery glow down and across the room whenever the light is on.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

That same hot forging process is what gives the Hockley its solid copper shade and its true, applied Tump colour, made by hand at the Llandrindod Wells workshop rather than pressed out on a production line.
