The Hockley pendant is one of From The Anvil's largest and most striking shapes, a wide cone spun from solid copper. This version pairs a matte Slate exterior with a bright polished copper interior, so the shade reads as a cool mid grey from the side and glows warm copper from below once it is lit.

Smooth Copper in Slate

The shade is made from smooth, solid copper rather than a plated alternative, so the weight and the warmth of the metal are real. Slate is a matte, mid grey finish on the outside face, giving it a calm, contemporary look that sits well against white or pale walls. Turn it over and the inside is left in bright, polished copper, catching and reflecting the light back down.

Where It Works Best

Its scale makes the Hockley a strong single fitting over a kitchen island, dining table or breakfast bar, and it also holds its own hung solo in a hallway. Grouped in a cluster of two or three at staggered heights, it makes an even bolder statement over a run of worktop or a large dining table. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Hockley's solid copper shade is spun and finished at that same workshop, one more shape added to a range that began with metalworking by hand.
