The Hockley pendant takes a wide, angled cone shade and gives it a quieter finish. It hangs low and broad, so the shape is what catches your eye first, well before you notice the light glowing beneath it.

Smooth Copper in Birch

This version starts as solid copper, spun and shaped into the Hockley cone, then finished on the outside in Birch, a pale, chalky grey. The inside is left as bare copper, so when the shade tilts you catch a warm coppery glimpse against the muted exterior. Once lit, that copper lining bounces a soft, warm glow downward.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined that range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and the Hockley's spun copper body carries that same hands on approach to shaping metal.
