Copper and Teasel, Together

This Harborne is made from solid copper, finished on the outside in Teasel, an off white cream that reads closer to parchment than stark white. Turn your eye to the inside and the copper is left bare and polished, so the dome catches the light and throws it back with a warm coppery cast. A stepped gallery at the neck of the shade, where it meets the fabric cable, echoes the pendant's classic, rounded silhouette.

How It Works

• One pendant light with a 400mm diameter dome and a drop of 270mm from the base of the ceiling rose to the rim of the shade.
• Supplied with a 120mm ceiling rose and 1.5m of black fabric cable, plus all the fixings needed to hang it.
• Takes a 6W maximum LED E27 bulb, bought separately, since the fitting does not include an integrated LED.
• Dimmable, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch.

Where It Works Best

A single Harborne works well hung low over a dining table, where the copper interior throws a warm pool of light onto the surface below. From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting, including this Harborne pendant, is produced at the same Welsh workshop, using the hot forged copper the company has worked with since its earliest hardware ranges.
