A Dome Shade With a Warm Twist
The Harborne pendant takes From The Anvil's classic dome shape and dresses it in Bluff, a warm, taupe toned grey that softens its industrial lines. Look up into the shade and you find a polished copper interior, a bright contrast that throws the light back down with a warm glow.
Smooth Copper, Bluff Finish
This pendant is spun from solid copper, then finished with a smooth, matte Bluff coating in warm grey on the outside. Inside, the copper is left polished and uncoated, so the metal keeps its natural shine and warms the light it reflects. The surface is smooth throughout, with no hammered texture, so the dome reads as clean and contemporary rather than rustic.
How It Works
- Takes one LED E27 bulb, 6W maximum (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose, 1.5m of black fabric cable and all necessary fixings.
- Shade measures 400mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
- A single pendant fitting, so wire it alone or repeat it for a run of lights.
Where It Works Best
Hang it low over a dining table so the copper interior can throw a warm pool of light across the surface, or line up two or three above a kitchen island for a bolder, more industrial look. It also suits living rooms and hallways, anywhere you want a fitting with real presence rather than a plain shade.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like this Harborne pendant is produced at the same Welsh workshop, its copper dome shaped and finished by the same hands that shape the company's door hardware.
