A Softer Take on an Industrial Classic
The Frankley pendant takes its cue from old factory lighting, but the wide, flared shade and gentle curve give it a softer, more considered shape for the home. Look inside and you will find a smooth copper lining that catches the light and throws a warm glow back into the room, a signature touch of the Frankley design.
The Tump Finish
This one is finished in Tump, a pale, chalky green named after the small grassy hills found across the Welsh countryside. The colour is applied smoothly over the metal shade, giving a soft matte exterior that sits happily against white or muted walls. Turn it over and the inside is left in bright, polished copper, so the contrast between the quiet outer finish and the warm metal glow is part of the appeal.
How It Works
- Wide, funnel shaped shade measuring 412mm in diameter and 240mm tall, with a smooth copper interior that reflects light back down into the room.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- 1m of black fabric cable provided as standard.
- Takes an LED bulb only, 6W maximum, E27 fitting (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
Where It Works Best
The wide shade and generous spread of light make this a natural fit above a dining table or kitchen island, where one or two hung in a row can do the work of several smaller fittings. It also holds its own as a single statement piece in a bedroom, living room or hallway, especially where the copper interior can be seen from below.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Frankley pendant's hand finished copper lining comes from that same forge, made using the metalworking skills the company started out with.
