The Flora wall light takes its shape from an open flower, its shade curving outward in soft scalloped folds rather than a plain cone. This version comes in a dusk finish, pairing a deep dark blue grey exterior with a smooth copper lining that catches the light from every angle once switched on.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is a dark blue grey tone, used here on the outer face of the shade, the wall plate and the jointed arm. Turn the shade over and the underside is finished in smooth copper, given a soft, almost woodgrain patina that shifts colour as you move around it. The fitting is built from copper and bronze, giving it real weight, and the arm meets the wall plate through a fully adjustable knuckle joint so the angle of the shade can be set once and left in place.

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware that still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Flora wall light's copper and bronze body, including this dusk finish, is made using those same hot forging methods at the Welsh workshop.
