The Flora Wall Light takes on a soft, hand shaped curve for a single fitting on the wall, its petal shaped shade catching the light along every fold. This version is finished in a smooth, polished copper rather than the textured hammered surface, so the metal's warm, rosy glow reads clean and bright.
The Smooth Copper Finish
Cast in solid copper, this shade has a smooth, mirror like surface rather than a hammered texture, so the metal's natural warmth shows through clearly. The wavy, petal shaped rim gives the light a softer silhouette than a plain cone shade, and the copper tone pairs well with black ironwork, warm wood, or other copper fittings in the same room.
How It Works
- Single arm wall light with an adjustable knuckle joint, so the shade can be angled up or down once it is fitted.
- Shade measures 217mm in diameter and 63mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.
- Round wall plate measures 105mm in diameter and projects 20mm from the wall.
- Takes one E14 bulb, maximum 6W LED (bulb not included).
- Dimmable when fitted with dimmable bulbs.
Where It Works Best
The adjustable arm makes this a useful light for reading in bed, so it works well as a pair either side of a bedframe. It also suits a hallway, above a kitchen worktop, or beside a fireplace in a living room or dining room, anywhere a soft, directional glow is more useful than an overhead light.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting like this Flora Wall Light is produced at the same Welsh workshop.
