A Pendant With Movement
The Flora pendant takes its name from the soft folds and undulating edge of its shade, more like flowing fabric than metal. Hand shaped rather than machine pressed, each one keeps a slightly different ripple along its rim, so no two hang quite the same.
Upstream Blue, Smooth Copper
This piece pairs a matte Upstream blue exterior with a bright, smooth copper interior. The contrast means the shade reads as a calm block of colour from across the room, then opens into a warm coppery glow the moment the bulb is switched on. The copper lining is left smooth rather than hammered, so it catches and reflects light with a soft, even sheen.
How It Works
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching blue ceiling rose and all necessary fixings.
- 1m of black fabric cable provided as standard.
- Takes an LED bulb only, 6W maximum, E27 fitting (bulb not included).
- Shade measures 500mm in diameter and 146mm high. Ceiling rose measures 106mm in diameter and 20mm high.
Where It Works Best
The wide, gently flared shade suits spaces where you want light spread rather than a single hard beam. It works well hung low over a kitchen island or dining table, and just as well in a bedroom, living room or hallway where a splash of colour overhead makes a statement.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. The Flora's shade, worked into its flowing curves at that same workshop, carries on that hand finishing tradition.
