The Flora pendant takes its name from its shape, a wide, softly waved shade that looks almost like a flower caught mid movement. Rather than throwing light in one direction, the flared form spreads it gently across the room below, so it works as a genuine light source rather than just a shape to look at.

Smooth Copper

This version is made from solid copper left with a smooth, unhammered surface, so light plays across a plain surface rather than catching on texture. Expect natural colour variation across the metal, lighter golden tones next to deeper copper red, and the marbled markings visible in the photos are part of the handmade copper finish rather than a flaw. Copper will continue to develop its own patina over time as it is handled and exposed to air.

How It Works

• Shade measures 500mm in diameter and 146mm high. Ceiling rose measures 106mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, and the Flora pendant's plain copper shade is a direct result of that hot forging process rather than a decorative effect added afterwards.

Questions People Ask

Does the Flora pendant come with a bulb?
No. It takes one 6W maximum LED E14 bulb, and the bulb is bought separately.

Can I dim this pendant?
Yes, as long as you fit a compatible dimmable LED bulb. A non dimmable bulb will not allow dimming, even on a dimmer switch.

Will the copper finish change colour over time?
Yes. Copper develops a natural patina as it ages and is exposed to air, so the tone will deepen gradually and unevenly. This is normal for this material rather than a fault.

Is the Flora pendant the same as the Flora wall light?
They are matching designs in the same Smooth Copper finish, so the pendant and wall light can be used together for a coordinated scheme, though the wall light is a separate product with its own fixing.
