The Brindley wall light takes a single spun copper shade and gives it a cool, contemporary edge. Instead of showing the raw metal everywhere, the outside is finished in a smooth matte Slate grey, so the copper only shows through at the joints and inside the shade. It is built to be angled and pointed exactly where you need the light, rather than fixed in one direction.
The Slate Finish
This Brindley wall light is spun from solid copper, then given a smooth Slate coating in a mid grey tone across the shade, arm and wall plate. The copper itself is left exposed and polished at the knuckle joints, the wing nuts and inside the shade, so it catches the light whenever the bulb is on. The result reads as grey and industrial from the front, with a warm copper glow underneath.
How It Works
- Double knuckle joint arm lets the shade tilt up, down or sideways, so you can point the light exactly where it is needed.
- Takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb (not supplied).
- Compatible with dimmable bulbs, so it can be dimmed if you fit one.
- Lamp measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm in height, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.
- Wall rose measures 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.
Where It Works Best
With its adjustable arm, the Brindley works well anywhere you want directional light rather than a general glow. Think either side of a bed as a reading light, along a hallway or staircase, or flanking a mirror. Its slate and copper combination suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens and hallways, and it pairs naturally with the matching Brindley pendant for a coordinated scheme in the same finish.

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley wall light is one of the copper pieces made using that same hot forging process at the Welsh workshop.

No. It takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one when you order.
