The Brindley wall light throws a single, focused beam rather than washing a whole wall in light. Two hinged joints let the arm swing and tilt, so you point the light exactly where you want it instead of living with one fixed angle.

Smooth Copper in a Bluff Grey Finish

This Brindley is hand spun from solid copper, then finished in Bluff, a matte, taupe toned grey that coats the outside of the shade and arm. Unlike the brand's hammered pieces, this dome is left smooth, so the grey reads calm and even rather than textured. Inside the shade, the copper is left bare and polished, and it's this exposed copper that catches and warms the light once a bulb is switched on.

How It Works

• Takes one 6W max LED bulb with an E14 fitting, not supplied, so you can choose your own brightness and colour temperature.
• Dimmable, as long as you fit a dimmable bulb and use it with a compatible dimmer switch.
• Two hinged copper joints, one at the wall plate and one at the shade, let you swing the light left or right and tilt it up or down.
• The shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.
• The circular wall plate is 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. This Brindley wall light is one of the copper pieces that comes out of that workshop, spun into shape and finished in Bluff by hand.

Questions People Ask

Is the Bluff finish painted or a natural copper colour?
It's a matte grey coating applied over the solid copper shade, so the grey on the outside is a finish rather than the copper's natural colour.

Can I still see the copper on this wall light?
Yes. The inside of the shade is left bare and polished, so the copper shows through once a bulb is fitted, even though the outside is grey.

Can the arm be adjusted once it's fitted?
Yes. It has two hinged joints, one at the wall plate and one at the shade, so the light can be swung and tilted to point where it's needed.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, bulbs are sold separately. It takes one LED bulb with an E14 fitting, rated at 6W maximum.
