A Directional Wall Light With Character

The Brindley wall light has a swing arm design, with a cone shaped shade that tilts and turns on a knuckle joint so you can angle the light exactly where you want it. It reads as a single, characterful fitting rather than a plain box on the wall, and works well anywhere a directed beam is more useful than a soft, diffused glow.

Smooth Copper Finish

This version is spun from solid copper and finished smooth and polished, rather than the hammered texture also available in the Brindley range. The result is a cleaner, more refined look, with the shade's interior left in the same bright copper so the light itself takes on a warm, coppery cast. Because the surface is naturally reflective rather than diffused, it works well paired with a cooler or brighter bulb to stop the room feeling too amber.

Where It Works Best

Its directional light suits bedrooms well, where it can double as a reading light beside the bed, and hallways or kitchens where a single strong point of light is useful. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

The Brindley wall light's solid copper shade is shaped using that same hot forging process, at the workshop where the brand's ironmongery and homeware are still made today.
