A Pale Green Dome With a Bright Copper Interior

This single Brindley pendant takes the same rounded, hand spun shade as the rest of the range and dresses it in a much softer colour. From the outside it reads as a quiet, hillside green called Tump. Tilt your head underneath it, or switch it on, and the shade opens onto a bright polished copper interior that throws the light straight back down into the room.

The Tump Finish

Tump is a chalky, muted pale green, closer to sage than a bottle or olive tone, painted over a solid copper base so the shade keeps real weight in the hand. From The Anvil leaves the inside of the dome unpainted and polished, so the exterior colour and the interior copper sit as two deliberately different finishes on the one fitting rather than a single tone throughout.

How It Works

• Single pendant supplied fully wired, with a matching ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
• Comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, so the drop height can be set to suit the room.
• Takes one LED bulb with an E27 fitting, rated 6W maximum. The bulb is not included.
• Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
• Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.

Where It Works Best

The pale Tump green sits well against plain white or panelled walls, which is where the copper interior gets to do the most work catching and throwing back light. Hang it low over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, group two or three together for wider coverage, or use it singly over a dining table, in a hallway, or as a softer accent pendant in a living room.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. It still hand forges steel and hot forges brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, and lighting became part of the range later, made at that same Welsh workshop. This Brindley shade is spun from that same solid copper before its Tump finish is applied by hand.

Questions People Ask

Is the copper visible from outside the shade?
No. The Tump finish is painted over the full exterior of the shade, so the polished copper only shows on the inside of the dome and around its rim.

What bulb does this pendant need?
One LED bulb with an E27 fitting, rated 6W maximum. It is bought separately.

Can it be dimmed?
Yes, as long as it is fitted with a dimmable LED bulb and used with a compatible dimmer switch.

How much cable comes with it?
It is supplied with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, which a qualified electrician can trim to set the exact drop height.
