A Warm Update on a Workshop Classic
The Brindley pendant is one of From The Anvil's simplest shapes done well: a single dome, spun and finished by hand, that throws light straight down where you need it. This version pairs a soft, chalky off white exterior with a glowing copper interior, so the shade itself becomes part of the light once switched on.
The Teasel Finish
Teasel is a warm, parchment toned off white with a matte surface, cream rather than bright white, closer to old paintwork than modern gloss. The body is spun from solid copper first, then the outside is finished in Teasel, while the inside is left polished, so once the bulb is on you get a soft coppery glow bouncing back down into the room.
How It Works
- Single pendant supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose and all necessary fixings.
- 1.5m of black fabric cable is included as standard.
- Takes one E27 bulb, LED only, 6W maximum. Bulb not included.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.
Where It Works Best
Hang it low over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, where the downward throw and warm copper glow suit food prep and casual dining. It also works well grouped in twos or threes at slightly different drop heights, or hung singly above a dining table, in a hallway, or in a living room reading corner.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting joined the range later, and this Brindley pendant is still hand spun from solid copper at that same Welsh workshop before its Teasel finish is applied.

- What bulb does this pendant take? It takes one E27 LED bulb, 6W maximum, and the bulb is not included.
- Is the Brindley pendant dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb.
- How long is the cable? It comes with 1.5m of black fabric cable as standard, which can be shortened on installation to set your preferred drop height.
- Can I return it if I change my mind? No, because it is handmade to order in Wales it cannot be returned once ordered.
