From The Anvil Smooth Copper Brindley Pendant - Dusk (Dark Blue/Grey)

The Brindley pendant is one of From The Anvil's classic dome shades, spun from solid copper and finished by hand at the brand's Welsh workshop. This version is dressed in Dusk, a deep, twilight toned blue grey that sits over the copper body, so the metal's warmth still shows at the rim and inside the shade.

The Dusk Finish

Dusk is a soft, matte blue grey applied over the solid copper form, giving it a calm, contemporary look rather than a heavily rustic one. Lift your eyes inside the dome and the copper is left bare and polished, so once the bulb is lit it throws a warm glow back down and around the shade. That contrast between the muted exterior and the bright copper interior is what gives the Brindley its character.

How It Works

• Supplied as a single pendant with a matching Dusk ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
• 1.5m of black fabric cable is provided as standard, so the drop height can be set to suit your ceiling.
• Takes one 6W maximum LED E27 bulb, bought separately.
• Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
• Shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height, with a 120mm diameter ceiling rose.

Where It Works Best

Because it hangs from a cable rather than a fixed rod, the Brindley is easy to adjust and easy to group. Hang two or three together above a kitchen island or dining table for even light along the surface, or use it on its own over a console table. Its blue grey tone and warm copper glow suit living rooms, kitchens and dining rooms where you want character without a bright metallic finish, and it also works well as a single statement pendant in a hallway.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting came later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this Brindley pendant is spun and finished there using that same copper working technique.
