The Brindley pendant is a single hand spun ceiling light with the same rounded, classic dome shape used across the range. This version skips the more textured hammered look often seen on hand forged metalwork in favour of a smooth, polished surface, giving it a cleaner, more understated presence overhead.

Spun from solid copper and polished rather than hammered, this Brindley has an even, reflective surface that catches the light rather than scattering it. Copper's natural warmth still comes through, but the smooth finish reads as more refined than a textured or aged piece, and it will develop its own soft patina over time as the metal is handled and exposed to air.

Where It Works Best

Because the drop can be adjusted, the Brindley works as a single pendant over a hallway just as well as it does grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island or dining table. From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, and this smooth copper Brindley is spun and polished there by hand, its even finish achieved with the same tools used on the brand's hammered and aged pieces.

Questions People Ask

Is the Brindley pendant dimmable?
Yes. It needs a dimmable LED bulb fitted to work with a dimmer switch, a standard non dimmable bulb won't respond to the dimmer even if one is installed.

Does it come with a bulb?
No, the bulb isn't included. It takes one E27 LED bulb rated up to 6W, so you can choose your own brightness and colour temperature.

How long is the cable, and can the drop height be changed?
It's supplied with 1.5m of black fabric cable, which a qualified electrician can trim during installation to set the pendant at the exact height needed.

Will the smooth copper finish change colour over time?
Yes. Copper naturally develops a soft patina with handling and exposure to air, so some gradual colour change is normal and part of the material rather than a fault.
