The Brindley cluster pendant gathers five to six of From The Anvil's dome shades onto one ceiling rose, hung at staggered heights so the light spreads out rather than sitting in a flat row. This Upstream version brings a deep, river toned blue to the shades, paired with a polished copper rim that catches the light from inside each dome.
Each shade is spun from copper and finished by hand in a smooth, matte blue called Upstream. The copper rim is left exposed and polished, so once the bulb is lit, the glow bounces off the copper and warms the blue from underneath. It gives the fitting real contrast, matte colour on the outside, bright metal on the inside.
How It Works
- A cluster of five to six dome pendants hangs from one ceiling rose, wired ready for staggered heights.
- The ceiling rose measures 400mm in diameter and 30mm deep.
- Each dome shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm tall, with a minimum drop of 1500mm.
- Each shade takes one 6W maximum LED E27 bulb, not supplied.
- Dimmable, if dimmable bulbs are fitted.
Where It Works Best
With five or six shades to spread out, this cluster suits a space with room above it, a dining table, a kitchen island, or a stairwell where the staggered heights can really show. The blue and copper combination also works well in a bedroom or living room where you want a considered splash of colour rather than plain metal.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. That same copper forging work shapes every dome in this Upstream cluster, each one finished by hand before it leaves Wales.
