A Cluster That Fills a Space With Character
The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six dome shaped shades at staggered heights, creating one fitting that reads more like a piece of furniture than a single light. Each shade catches the light differently as they drop past one another, giving a room a sense of depth that a single pendant cannot.
Smooth Copper, Finished in Soot
This version starts as smooth, spun copper and bronze, then is finished in Soot, a dark charcoal grey, on the outside of each shade. The inside keeps its natural copper shine, so when a bulb is lit the warm copper glow spills out from beneath a matte, almost graphite exterior. It is a quieter, moodier take on the Brindley shape, one that suits rooms already leaning dark or industrial rather than bright and airy.
How It Works
- Five to six shades hang from black fabric flex cords, gathered at a single round ceiling rose measuring 400mm in diameter.
- Each dome shade measures 260mm in diameter and 270mm in height.
- The cluster has an adjustable drop with a minimum height of 1500mm from ceiling rose to shade, so it can be set to suit the room.
- Takes an E27 bulb of up to 6W LED per shade (bulbs not supplied).
- Dimmable if dimmable bulbs are fitted.
Where It Works Best
The staggered drop makes this a natural fit above a dining table, a kitchen island, or a stairwell tall enough to let the shades spread out properly. It works equally well as a statement piece in a bedroom, living room, or hallway wherever there is height to spare and a darker, more grounded finish is wanted over a brighter metal.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil started in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting came later, made at the same Welsh workshop using the same hand forging and hot forging methods. This Brindley cluster carries that same hands on approach, with the copper spun and finished by hand before it ever reaches Soot's dark grey coating.

- Every Brindley cluster is handmade to order at From The Anvil's workshop in Wales, so it is not held as ready made stock.
- Because it is made to order, it is non returnable once ordered.
- Comes with a 10 year warranty.
- Wipe the copper interior and Soot exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can wear through the finish.
