Five Shades, One Statement

This Brindley cluster pendant groups several dome shades onto a single ceiling rose, so one fitting does the work of many. Each shade is spun from solid copper, which gives the cluster a warm glow from inside even though the outer finish is a cool grey.

The Slate Finish

Slate is a mid grey finish applied over the spun copper shade. The grey sits on the outside while the rim and interior stay in bright copper, so every shade shows a flash of warm metal against its cool exterior. It is a smooth, matte finish rather than a hammered or textured one.

How It Works

• The cluster brings together five to six of the Brindley dome shades on one round ceiling rose.
• Each shade takes a 6W max LED E27 bulb, not supplied, and is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used.
• The ceiling rose measures 400mm in diameter and 30mm deep, with each shade measuring 260mm in diameter and 270mm high.
• Cables run to a minimum height of 1500mm, giving enough length to stagger the shades at different drops.
• The rose and cable grips are finished in a dark bronze that sits quietly against most ceilings.

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley cluster carries that same hand finished copper through into a lighting piece, made at the same Welsh workshop.
