A Bold Cluster With Copper Underneath

The Brindley cluster pendant groups five to six domed shades from a single ceiling rose, each one finished in a deep matt Elan Black that gives the group a strong, graphic silhouette. Look underneath and the shades reveal their real material, solid copper, left bright and unpainted where the light spills out. The contrast between the dark exterior and the warm copper interior is what gives this pendant its character.

Each shade starts as a single piece of hand spun solid copper. The outer surface is coated in a smooth, matt Elan Black, while the rim and interior are left as bare polished copper, so the metal underneath catches the light every time the pendant is switched on. Staggering the shades at different heights lets the black exteriors and copper interiors play off each other rather than reading as one flat block of colour.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting, and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley cluster carries that same hand forged copper through to its cluster of five to six pendant shades.
