The Hockley pendant takes a confident, wide angled cone shade and finishes it in Tump, a pale, hillside green with a chalky, muted quality. It is a striking shape that still feels calm and grounded thanks to that soft colour, making it just as suited to a considered kitchen scheme as to a hallway that wants a little personality.

Smooth Brass and Tump Green

The shade is hand finished in Tump on the outside, a soft green with a faint grey undertone that changes gently with the light in the room. Inside, the shade is left in smooth, polished brass, so when the bulb is lit the whole underside glows with a warm brass reflection. The contrast between the matte green exterior and the bright brass interior is the whole character of this piece.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop, and this Hockley pendant carries that hand finished brass work straight through to its Tump green shade.
