The Hockley pendant takes a single, oversized cone shade and pairs it with a soft matt white exterior, so the shape itself does the work rather than any pattern or texture. Hung low over a table or counter, it reads as a bold, sculptural anchor point rather than a decorative extra, whether used on its own or grouped in twos and threes for more impact.

The Flock Finish

Flock is a chalky matt white paint finish applied over the outside of the shade, left soft and non reflective rather than glossy. Look up into the shade and the effect flips completely, the polished brass lining catches the light and throws a warm golden glow down and out from underneath the cone.

• Dimmable, provided a compatible dimmable LED bulb is fitted.

Where It Works Best

Its scale makes the Hockley a strong single fitting over a kitchen island or dining table, where the brass interior throws light exactly where it is needed. It also works well as a statement pendant in a living room or hallway, and grouping two or three together over a longer table or island adds even more presence.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The polished brass lining inside this Hockley pendant is shaped and finished there, using that same hot forging process.
