The Harborne pendant is a broad, rounded dome shade built from solid brass, spun into the same classic silhouette used across From The Anvil's pendant range. This Slate colourway paints the outside in a flat mid grey and leaves the inside in bright, unlacquered brass, so it reads as a clean, single statement light rather than one of several matching shades in a cluster.

The Slate Finish

Slate is a matte mid grey finish applied over the outside of the brass shade, while the interior is left polished and untouched. That contrast is the point, a cool, understated grey dome on the outside, and a warm golden glow reflecting out from the brass lining once a bulb is switched on underneath it.

Where It Works Best

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Harborne's painted Slate shell and polished brass lining are a good example of that mix of hand finishing and modern manufacturing, carried into a single pendant shade.
