Its deep, matt Elan Black exterior is bold and graphic against a smooth brass interior, so the two finishes work together rather than blending into one flat colour. Once the bulb is on, the polished brass glows and lifts the whole fitting.

This version pairs a solid brass shade with a deep matt black paint finish on the outside. The black is flat and matte to the touch, giving it a strong graphic look, while the inside is left in smooth, polished brass so it catches the light. The contrast between the two finishes is the main event here, and it changes character depending on whether the pendant is lit or not.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Harborne pendant's brass shade is a direct result of that hot forging process, finished by hand before it gets its Elan Black coat.
