The Frankley pendant takes its shape from an old style factory light, a wide dish shade curving down from a slender neck. It is a simple, confident silhouette that reads as a single statement on its own, or repeats well in a row along a run of worktop.
A Pale Grey Birch Finish
This Frankley is finished in Birch, a soft pale grey that sits quietly against white or painted walls without drawing too much attention to itself during the day. The shade is spun from brass, then finished in that pale grey on the outside so the surface stays smooth and matte to the touch. Turn it over and the story changes: the underside is left in polished, unlacquered brass, so once the bulb is on the metal catches and throws back a warm glow.
How It Works
- Wired for a single E27 bulb, 6W LED maximum, bulb not included.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching pale grey ceiling rose and all the fixings needed to hang it.
- Shade measures 412mm in diameter and 240mm high. Ceiling rose measures 106mm in diameter and 20mm deep.
Where It Works Best
The wide dish shade throws light down and out, which suits anywhere you want a defined pool of light rather than an even wash across the ceiling, over a kitchen island, above a dining table, or as a single drop in a hallway. It also works well in a bedroom or living room hung low, at a height where the pale grey shade and its bright brass underside can both be seen properly.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and the brass lined shade on this Frankley pendant is a direct product of that same hand forging.
