A Wall Light Shaped Like a Flower
The Flora wall light takes its shape from nature, with a softly waved shade that curves and folds like a flower in bloom. This version is spun from solid brass and finished smooth and bright, without the hammered texture used elsewhere in the Flora range. Once fitted with a bulb, light spills out from beneath the shade's curved edge, casting a warm glow up the wall and across the room.
The Smooth Brass Finish
Solid brass is spun and polished to a clean, mirror like sheen rather than textured or hammered. The brass carries a warm gold tone that will develop a soft patina over time as it is handled and exposed to air, a natural part of how solid brass ages. The knuckle joints and lamp holder are finished in black, which stands out against the brass and echoes the fittings used across the Flora collection.
How It Works
- Holds a single bulb inside the waved brass shade.
- Takes an E14 bulb, 6W maximum if LED, bulb not included.
- Dimmable, if dimmable bulbs are fitted.
- Two brass knuckle joints let the arm swing out from the wall and the shade tilt up or down.
- Fixes to the wall with a round brass back plate 105mm in diameter.
- Shade measures 217mm across, with the light projecting 224mm out from the wall once the arm is extended.
Where It Works Best
This wall light suits bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and kitchens. Fitted either side of a bed it works well as a reading light, and mounted along a hallway wall it gives a soft, even wash of light without taking up floor or ceiling space.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting such as this Flora wall light is made at the same Welsh workshop, and every curve in this shade reflects that hand forming process, so no two are ever quite identical.
