A Sculptural Statement Pendant
The Flora pendant is built around one sweeping curve rather than a straight cone. Its wide shade flares out to a soft, wavy edge, giving it a fluid, almost floral outline that stands out from a standard dome or drum shade. Spun from solid brass, it works as a single striking pendant over a table or in a repeated row along a hallway or kitchen.
The Smooth Brass and Elan Black Finish
This Flora is spun in a smooth, unhammered brass and finished on the outside in a deep, matt Elan Black. The inside of the shade is left in its natural polished brass, so once the bulb is lit the warm gold interior glows out from beneath the black exterior, giving a strong contrast between the two finishes.
How It Works
- The wide shade throws light down and out from its polished brass interior, giving a warm, directional pool of light rather than a soft ambient glow.
- Supplied fully wired, with a matching ceiling rose measuring 106mm in diameter and all the fixings needed to fit it.
- Takes one 6W maximum LED bulb with an E27 fitting. The bulb is not supplied.
- Dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
- The shade itself measures 500mm in diameter and 146mm in height.
Where It Works Best
Its dark exterior suits rooms with a bit more depth to the scheme. Hang it low over a bedside table in the bedroom, above a dining table, as a statement piece in the living room, in a row along a hallway, or over a kitchen island or counter.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.
The Flora pendant carries that same hand finished approach, with its Elan Black exterior applied and its brass shade formed by hand at the Llandrindod Wells workshop.
