The Flora pendant is shaped like an opened flower, its wide brass shade curling and rippling at the edge instead of running to a straight rim. Hung on its own or in a cluster, it gives a room an instant handmade, sculptural focal point.
The Bluff Finish
This version is finished in Bluff, a warm, muted grey with a soft taupe undertone on the outside of the shade. The inside stays in smooth, polished brass, so switching the light on reveals a warm gold glow against the cool grey exterior. Every shade is spun from solid brass and hand finished, which means the graceful, uneven wave along the rim is unique to each piece.
How It Works
- Single pendant with a wide, scalloped brass shade measuring 500mm in diameter and 146mm high.
- Supplied fully wired with a matching ceiling rose measuring 106mm in diameter and 20mm deep, plus all necessary fixings.
- Fitted with 1m of black fabric cable as standard.
- Takes one E27 LED bulb, 6W maximum, bulb not included.
- Dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable LED bulb.
Where It Works Best
Its shape works well low over a table or kitchen island, where the flared brass interior throws light outward and down. From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Flora pendant's rippled brass shade is a direct result of that hand forming process, shaped by hand rather than pressed into a uniform mould.
