The Flora Cluster Pendant is one of From The Anvil's most eye catching lighting designs, gathering several curved, petal shaped shades together on one ceiling point. This version brings together five to six of those shades at staggered drop lengths, so light spills down at different heights rather than in one flat line.
Smooth Brass, Finished In Slate
Each shade starts life as solid brass, spun into its curved, sculpted form and then hand finished smooth. The outside is coated in a soft, mid grey Slate, giving the fitting a quieter, more contemporary look than a bare metal finish. Inside, the natural brass tone is left showing, so once the bulb is lit that warm brass lining reflects the light gently back down and out through the shade's wavy edge.
How It Works
- Groups five to six curved Flora shades from a single ceiling rose, each hung at a different height
- Every shade measures 217mm in diameter with a 224mm projection
- Ceiling rose measures 105mm in diameter
- Each shade takes a 6W maximum E27 LED bulb, not supplied
- Dimmable, as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted
- Bulbs are not integrated, so they can be swapped or replaced whenever needed
Where It Works Best
With several shades spreading out at staggered heights, this pendant needs a bit of room to breathe. It suits a dining table where it can hang low and wide, or a stairwell and hallway where the different drop lengths follow the space naturally. It works equally well in a bedroom, living room or kitchen with a good ceiling height, wherever a single statement fitting is wanted in place of several smaller lights.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting came later, made at that same Welsh workshop using both traditional hand forging and hot forging alongside modern engineering. Every Flora Cluster shade in this Slate finish is spun and finished by that same team, using the skills the company was built on.
