The shade itself is spun from solid brass and finished in that pale cream tone on the outside, while the inside stays in bare polished brass. Once the bulb is on, that brass interior catches and bounces the light, so the glow takes on a warm, golden cast rather than a plain white one.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, and this Brindley wall light with its brass arm and hand finished shade carries that same hand forged approach through to a fitting you switch on every day.
