The Brindley wall light is built to point light exactly where you need it. This version wears a mid grey Slate exterior over a solid brass frame, so by day it reads as a quiet, modern shape on the wall, and by night the shade opens up to a warm brass glow.
Smooth Brass, Slate Finish
The shade's outer face is finished in Slate, a flat mid grey that works well against painted walls without pulling too much attention. Turn it toward you, though, and the inside is solid brass, polished to a smooth shine that reflects the bulb's light back out. The same brass runs through the wall rose and the two knuckle joints that hold the arm, so every moving part and every visible fixing is brass, even though the shade itself is grey.

- Two brass wing joints, one at the wall rose and one at the shade, let you swivel and angle the light by hand.
- Takes one E14 bulb, LED rated up to 6W (not included).
- Dimmable, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb.
- The shade measures 139mm in diameter, with a projection of 224mm from the wall.
- The wall rose measures 105mm in diameter.
Where It Works Best
Because you can angle the shade by hand, it works well anywhere you want light aimed rather than spread, either side of a bed, above a console table, or along a hallway. From The Anvil also lists it for living rooms, dining rooms and kitchens, wherever a single, directional wall light is more useful than an overhead fitting. It pairs with the matching Brindley pendant if you want the same brass and Slate finish carried through a room.

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand itself launched in 2000, with around fifty handmade products. The business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering today. Lighting became part of the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop. That hot forging tradition, used for brass and copper across the range, carries through into fittings like this Brindley wall light.

It takes one E14 bulb, rated LED up to 6W. A bulb is not included, so you will need to fit your own.
Can I dim this light?
Yes. It is dimmable as long as you use a dimmable LED bulb. A standard non dimmable bulb will not dim, even on a compatible dimmer switch.
