A Directional Wall Light With a Bold Green Finish
The Brindley wall light is built around an adjustable arm, so instead of casting light in a fixed direction, you can angle it exactly where it is needed. This version is finished in a rich, deep green called Dingle, paired with smooth polished brass fittings that keep it from ever looking plain against a wall.
Smooth Brass and a Rich Dingle Green
The shade and swan neck arm are cast in solid brass, then painted in Dingle, a green with real depth that can read almost teal in daylight and near black in low light. The knuckle joints, wing nut, wall rose and shade rim are left in a smooth, polished brass rather than an aged or antiqued finish, so they stay bright and catch the light even when the fitting itself is off. Once switched on, the brass lined interior of the shade reflects the bulb's glow back out in a warm, focused pool of light.
How It Works
- Wall mounted, with an adjustable brass knuckle joint at the wall plate and a second one where the arm meets the shade, so the light can be angled up, down or across the wall
- Wall rose measures 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep. The shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm deep, with the arm projecting 224mm out from the wall
- Takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb, not supplied
- Dimmable, if dimmable bulbs are fitted
Where It Works Best
Because the arm and shade both adjust, this light is useful anywhere you want to point brightness at a specific spot rather than light a whole room evenly. It works well in a bedroom either side of the bed for reading, in a hallway to mark a turn or a doorway, or over a kitchen worktop where task light matters. It also suits a dining room or living room as an accent light, mounted either side of a chimney breast, mirror or piece of artwork.
From The Anvil
From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Brindley wall light carries that same hand finished brass tradition through into its lighting range, which is part of why a colour as considered as Dingle green sits so well against its polished brass fittings.
