From The Anvil Smooth Brass Brindley Wall Light - Bluff (Warm Grey)

This Brindley wall light brings a directional, adjustable arm to a room, letting you angle the light exactly where you need it. It has real presence on a wall thanks to its cast knuckle joint and deep dome shade, and it is equally at home as a reading light beside a bed or as a feature piece lighting a hallway.

The Bluff Finish

This particular Brindley is finished in Bluff, a warm taupe toned grey that sits somewhere between stone and slate. The powder coated exterior has a soft, matte texture that keeps the light looking calm and contemporary on the wall. Inside the shade, the metal is left as smooth, polished brass, so the light itself glows warm and gold even though the outer shade reads grey. The same polished brass carries through to the knuckle joint, wingnut and wall rose, giving the whole fitting a crisp, jewellery like finish against its matte shade.

How It Works

• Fixes to the wall on a round brass rose, with the arm and shade able to tilt and swivel on a brass knuckle joint secured by a wingnut.
• Takes one 6W max LED E14 bulb, not supplied.
• Dimmable when used with dimmable LED bulbs.
• Shade measures 139mm in diameter and 124mm high, with a 224mm projection from the wall. The wall rose is 105mm in diameter and 20mm deep.

Where It Works Best

Its adjustable head makes it a natural choice either side of a bed, where you can angle it down for reading without waking anyone else. It also suits hallways and staircases, where a directional beam picks out artwork or steps, and works well in dining rooms, living rooms and kitchens as an accent light rather than the main source in the room.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when former metalwork teacher and joiner Mark Underhill bought a small ironmongery supplier and began hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Lighting joined the range later, made at the same Welsh workshop, still hand forged in steel and hot forged in brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. The Brindley wall light carries that same brass forming and finishing work into a fitting built for everyday use on a bedroom or hallway wall.
