From The Anvil Smooth Brass Brindley Wall Light - Birch (Pale Grey)

The Brindley wall light has a spun brass shade finished in a soft, pale grey called Birch, with the swivel joints and rim left in bright, uncoated brass. The head tilts and turns on a brass wingnut joint, so you can angle the light exactly where you want it, up towards a wall, down towards a bed, or straight ahead along a hallway.

The Birch shade is powder coated in a matte, pale grey that reads as a genuinely versatile neutral, at home in both traditional and modern rooms. Inside the shade, the brass is left smooth and highly polished, so when the light is on it throws a warm, golden glow that contrasts with the cool grey exterior. The wingnut joint, rose, and interior are all solid brass, left uncoated so they will develop a soft patina over time.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting, and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. That same brass forging technique shapes the Brindley's shade and swivel joint, so each one carries the mark of the workshop that made it.
