From The Anvil Smooth Brass Brindley Pendant - Upstream (Blue)

The Brindley is one of From The Anvil's boldest pendant shapes, a deep dome shade that pairs bright polished brass on the inside with a fully painted colour on the outside. This version comes in Upstream, a muted river blue that gives it real presence without feeling heavy in a room.

The shade starts life as solid brass, spun and shaped by hand before the outer surface is finished in a smooth, matte Upstream blue paint. The inside is left in its natural polished brass, so once a bulb is on you get a warm golden glow spilling out from beneath the blue exterior.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working with his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop.

The Brindley pendant carries that same brasswork through into lighting, with each shade still shaped and finished by hand at the Welsh workshop before it takes on a colour like Upstream.
