A Brindley Pendant Finished in Flock Matt White

The Brindley pendant is one of From The Anvil's signature shapes, a deep, rounded dome that throws light down and out in equal measure. This one is cast in solid brass and finished in Flock, a soft, chalky matt white that gives the shade a light, powdery look from the outside.

The Flock Finish

Turn it on and the character changes completely. Inside, the brass is left bare and polished, so light bounces off a warm, gold surface before it reaches the room. From outside the shade reads as a calm matt white. From below, it glows brass. It is a nice contrast for a kitchen or dining space where you want something that looks quiet by day and warm by night.

Where It Works Best

Because the drop height can be adjusted at installation, this pendant works well hung singly over a dining table or console, or grouped in twos or threes above a kitchen island. Its warm brass glow and pale shade also suit a hallway or living room where you want one strong pendant rather than a row of downlights.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant is handmade to order at that same Welsh workshop, continuing the tradition Mark and Bernadette began in 1996.

Questions People Ask

• Is the Brindley pendant dimmable? Yes, as long as it is fitted with a dimmable LED bulb. It is not dimmable with a standard, non dimmable LED.
• Does it come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 LED bulb of 6W maximum, bought separately.
• Can I hang more than one together? Yes. The Brindley is designed so several can be hung at different drop heights, which works well in twos or threes above a kitchen island.
• Can I return it if I change my mind? No. Because every Brindley pendant is handmade to order in Wales, it cannot be returned once the order is placed.
