A Dome Shape With Real Presence

The Brindley Pendant takes its cue from old factory lighting, a single dome shade that throws light down and out in equal measure. It is cast from solid brass rather than pressed from sheet metal, so the shade has real weight and a smooth, rounded profile that catches the light along its curve.

Finished in Dusk

This one is finished in Dusk, a deep blue grey exterior that reads almost charcoal in low light and takes on a blue cast in daylight. Inside the shade, the brass is left smooth and polished, so once the bulb is lit it throws a warm, golden glow down onto the surface below, in contrast to the cool tone outside.

Where It Works Best

Hang it low over a dining table for a warm pool of light, or use two or three at different drop heights above a kitchen island for a layered look. The Dusk finish also suits living rooms and hallways, where a single dome shade against a light wall or panelling adds a bit of contrast.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products, and the business went on to relocate to Llandrindod Wells in Powys, growing into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware. Steel is still hand forged and brass and copper still hot forged using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. This Brindley pendant is one of the results, hot forged in brass at the same Welsh workshop and finished by hand in Dusk.
