A Brindley Pendant With Its Own Quiet Glow

The Brindley Pendant is a classic dome shaped light with a twist inside. Beneath its coloured shell sits a ring of polished brass, so once the bulb is on the light spills out warm and golden rather than flat and white. It works just as well hung on its own over a dining table as it does grouped with others above a kitchen island.

Bluff: A Warm, Taupe Toned Grey

This particular Brindley is finished in Bluff, a soft grey with a warm, taupe undertone rather than a cold or blue grey. The shade is spun from solid brass, then given a smooth, matte powder coating in Bluff on the outside, while the inside is left in bright, polished brass. That contrast is what gives the light its warm glow once switched on.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996 when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. The Bluff grey on this Brindley Pendant is applied by hand at that workshop, over brass shaped using the same forging methods the company started with.
