From The Anvil Smooth Brass Brindley Cluster Pendant - Heath (Earthy Green)

Five domed shades tumble from a single black ceiling rose in this Brindley cluster pendant, each one hung at a different length so the whole fitting reads as a considered scatter rather than a straight line. It is a solid brass fixture, spun and shaped by hand, that works as the sole light source over a table or as an anchor at the foot of a staircase.

This particular Brindley wears From The Anvil's Heath finish, a muted, earthy green painted over the smooth brass shell. Look inside each shade and the metal takes over. The brass interior is left bright and unlacquered, so it throws back a warm, buttery glow the moment a bulb is switched on, while the matte green exterior stays quiet and lets that glow do the talking.

From The Anvil began in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and started hand forging his own hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business later moved to Llandrindod Wells in Powys and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering, with lighting joining the range at the same Welsh workshop. Every shade in this Brindley cluster is shaped from that same hot forged brass, then finished by hand in Heath green.
