This Brindley cluster pendant gathers five to six dome shades on a single black ceiling rose, each one hung at a different length to build height and shape above a table or stairwell. It is a grouped light with real presence, built to fill a tall room rather than sit quietly in a corner.

Smooth Brass in Elan Black

Each shade starts as smooth, spun brass, cast in the classic Brindley dome shape with a stepped neck at the top. From The Anvil then finishes the outer surface in Elan Black, a deep matt black that reads almost charcoal in daylight. The brass is left exposed and polished around the inner rim and shade interior, so the metal catches the light from within and throws a warm glow downward once a bulb is switched on.

Where It Works Best

The staggered drop of a Brindley cluster suits spaces with height to play with. Hang it low over a dining table or kitchen island to bring the light down to eye level, or let it run down a stairwell for something a single pendant could never do. The Elan Black finish sits well against darker schemes, brick, timber or deep painted walls, where the exposed brass rim still catches the eye. It works equally well in a living room, bedroom or hallway, wherever there is a strong, symmetrical spot for it to hang.

From The Anvil

From The Anvil was founded in 1996, when Mark Underhill, a former metalwork teacher and joiner, bought a small ironmongery supplier called MF Supplies and began hand forging his own range of hardware from a workshop in Mid Wales, working alongside his wife Bernadette. The From The Anvil brand launched in 2000 with around fifty handmade products. The business relocated to Llandrindod Wells, Powys, and grew into a family run manufacturer of ironmongery, lighting and homeware, still hand forging steel and hot forging brass and copper using traditional methods alongside modern engineering. Lighting became part of the range later, produced at the same Welsh workshop. That same hand finishing process gives this Brindley cluster its two tone look, with the black paint and the brass beneath both worked by hand rather than sprayed on as a single flat colour.
